Why Is Sugar Bad For Your Health?

Sugar has the chemical name of Sucrose, and it is important to have an understanding of sugar for one to know why is sugar bad for your health, as well as the advantages of The Ketogenic Diet For Healthy Longevity.

Sugar contains two molecules bound together.

The two molecules are Glucose and Fructose.

Sugar is a sweet crystalline substance obtained from various plants, especially sugar cane and sugar beet.

No matter how complex a carbohydrate is to start with, once in the body, it is very important to note that all ingested carbohydrates are broken down in one’s body to the simple sugars, which are glucose, fructose and galactose.

These simple sugars are known as monosaccharides.

Glucose is a primary cell fuel for one’s bodily functions and energy.

In 8,000 BC, Sugar was native to, and first cultivated in, New Guinea, where initially, people chewed on the reeds to enjoy the sweetness.

By 6,000 BC, sugar cane made its way (by ship) to the Philippines and India.

In 100 AD, Sugar was first refined in India, and the first description of a sugar mill is found in an Indian text from 100 A.D.

In 327 AD, the Greeks and Romans learned about sugar during visits to India. Nearchus, Alexandria’s general, wrote of  “a reed in India that brings forth honey without the help of bees, from which an intoxicating drink is made, though the plant bears no fruit.” Small amounts of this reed were brought back to the Mediterranean and traded to physicians who used it for medical purposes.

There is no doubt that the incidence of obesity is rising at an alarming rate.

One of the chief causes is sugar and specifically the large amount of sugar derived from sweetened drinks such as sodas and teas.

The sugars increase one’s hunger and desire for food while at the same time decreasing the hormone that indicates to one to stop eating.

Thus, this vicious cycle clearly leads to one piling on belly fat.

There is a strong correlation between a high sugar diet and heart disease which is the number one cause of death on a world wide basis.

Additionally, its cardiovascular effects are evidenced by increased Inflammation, high blood pressure, and atherosclerosis.

Studies have shown that just one sugary drink can put one into a high sugar situation.

Further, an interesting must watch Dr. Oz YouTube interview re the importance of Cholesterol, and that the higher one’s Cholesterol the longer one lives, watch Sugar The Culprit Not Cholesterol.

Damaging Effects Of Diabetes

Over the past 30 years, the incidence of Diabetes has more than doubled.

There is no doubt that high sugar intake is the highest contributor to the cause of Diabetes.

High sugar consumption also is a key contributor to Insulin Resistance and its companion, obesity.

Just by increasing one’s state of obesity this in itself increases one’s chance of contracting cancer.

In addition, by increasing Insulin Resistance and Inflammation, sugars further increase one’s cancer risk.

Additionally, as pointed out in The Ketogenic Diet For Healthy Longevity, the Warburg Effect, for which Dr. Otto Heinrich Warburg received the 1931 Nobel Prize, showed that Cancer cells love sugar/glucose and cannot thrive and survive without it when on a Ketogenic Diet.

This alone is a strong reason for one to enjoy the health benefits of the Ketogenic Diet.

It has been shown that high sugar diets lead to an increase in the incidence of depression in both men and women.

This is partially due to the high/low swings high carb/sugar diets cause.

Further, studies have demonstrated a strong correlation between the amount of sugar consumed and the likelihood of depression.

   – SKIN

Sugar increases the production of AGE (Advanced Glycation End products) which play a role in skin aging.

This damages collagen and elastin which keep the skin young and able to stretch, thus retaining a youthful appearance.

Studies have shown a correlation between high carbohydrate consumption and aged damaged skin and wrinkles.

Furthermore, high sugar diets can increase androgen secretion, oil production, and inflammation, all of which can raise your risk of developing acne.

As discussed in the about Telomere post, Supplements Increase Telomere Length With Keto, Telomeres are the key to cellular aging and extended life span!

A high sugar diet has been shown to increase one’s Telomere shortening.

The relationship between high carb/sugar diets and Telomere shortening leads to accelerating aging.

One’s energy is drained as high sugar/carbohydrate consumption causes a roller coaster ride of spiked blood sugar and increased energy to the quickly following decreased blood sugar and decreased energy crash.

Eating too much sugar may lead to NAFLD (Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease), a condition in which excessive fat builds up in the liver.

Sugar has been shown to worsen cognitive decline which is reasonable due to the harmful effects on one’s blood vessels.

  – GOUT

The higher one’s sugar consumption, the greater the risk of one encountering gout.

The cascade of the harmful consequences of a high sugar diet over time takes it toll on one’s kidneys.

It is well known that sugar plays havoc with one’s teeth and that cavities are produced by it.

There are two courses of action one can take to protect from high sugar.

  The two courses are:

      – One can proceed, as best one can, on a normal reduced carb/sugar diet, which will take a lot of will power and often results in fighting the hunger and temptation demons,

       – One can embrace the high energy, no hunger, Ketogenic diet as reviewed in The Best Keto Diet Plan For Beginners post.

Yes I want Glycemic Guard protection, then one can ADD TO CART and take the Glycemic Guard™ 30 vegetarian capsules, which is a once-a-day supplement that helps one’s body maintain already-healthy blood sugar levels, especially after one eats.

If one has been monitoring one’s blood glucose levels, one knows all about fasting blood sugar which is the blood sugar count when one has not been eating for 8 hours.

However, one equally needs to be aware of one’s blood sugar after meals when very harmful post-meal glucose spikes often occur.

If one is experiencing post-meal glucose spikes then one should buy and take Glycemic Guard™ to help one’s body maintain constant already-healthy blood sugar levels,  especially after one eats.

Benefits at a Glance:

  • Helps maintain already-healthy post-meal blood sugar levels,
  • Supports healthy glucose absorption and gut peptide signaling,
  • Encourages healthy glucose production in the liver, and
  • Promotes healthy insulin response and hemoglobin A1c levels

This NEW formula contains potent Delphinol® maqui berry extract and Clovinol® clove extract.

Both affect glucose metabolism, or the way one’s body processes sugars from the food one eats.

Glycemic Guard keeps one healthy and maintains after-meal blood sugar where it is supposed to be!

    Delphinol® maqui berry extract
Delphinol® is a standardized extract of the maqui berry (Aristotelia chilensis) packed with health-promoting anthocyanin and delphinidin compounds. Delphinol® delays the process by which food leaves the stomach and enters the small intestine. This affects post-meal glucose and insulin spikes.
In one study, 200 mg of Delphinol taken 30 minutes before eating profoundly affected post-prandial (that’s after-eating) glucose and insulin levels. At 60 minutes after eating, the Delphinol-group measured a 15.14% difference in blood sugar levels and a 57% difference in insulin compared to the control group. In another study, 180 mg of Delphinol® taken before breakfast led to a statistically significant change in hemoglobin A1c levels (a key indicator when it comes to blood sugar health) after just 60 days.

    Clovinol® clove bud extract
Clovinol® is a water-soluble extract of unopened clove buds (Syzygium aromaticum). It is rich in polyphenols which promote healthy liver function. Research shows that clovinol inhibits a liver enzyme used in glycogenolysis, the natural process where your body breaks down glycogen to release glucose stored in the liver.
One study showed that 250 mg of Clovinol® once a day resulted in a 27% difference compared to baseline after 30 days, with noticeable change observable in as little as 12 days.

Therefore, if one has been monitoring one’s blood glucose levels, buy and try Glycemic Guard™, which is a convenient, once-a-day supplement that helps one’s body maintain already-healthy blood sugar levels, especially after meals.

As shown in countless studies, sugar can be extremely harmful to one’s health and longevity and therefore,  it is important to have a full understanding of sugar for one to know why is sugar bad for your health.

Further, there are alternatives to experiencing the ravages of sugar which can be achieved through either embracing the Best Ketogenic Diet for Beginners or through proper supplementation.
