Why Should You Throw Out The Calorie Counter Now For Keto?

Throw Out Your The Calorie Counter Now For Keto

Any person that has struggled to lose weight can now become successful if they throw out the Calorie Counter and incorporate The Keto Diet For Beginners because Keto has been proven to work.

If you have tried everything imaginable, taken every pill on the market, tried every exercise routine, or signed up for every class and still have failed to reach your desired goal, then you are in the right place now.

And, note that one’s desired goal should be that one’s ideal healthy waist measurement should not be greater than 1/2 one’s height.

Example: If one is 6’ tall=72”, a waist target of no greater than 36” should be sought for maximum health benefits.

calorie is the amount of heat needed to raise the temperature of one gram of water by one degree Celsius.

And, Calorie counting is simply the process of adding up the number of Calories that one consumes to reach a total.

The Calorie counting method for losing weight is to consume a total number of Calories that is less than that of the total number of Calories one is expected to burn and/or consume in a period/day.

The Calorie counting goal is to consume fewer Calories in a day than one burns/uses.

Makes sense but Caloric restriction just doesn’t work.

Let’s assume that one is burning 2,000 calories per day.

And, a pound of fat is 3,500 Calories.

So one could calculate that if one only consumes 1,500 Calories per day then one will lose 500 Calories of fat per day.

Thus, in one week one will lose 3,500 Calories which equates to 1 pound of fat lost per week.

Why Calorie Counting Fails: “Way Less Than 1,500 Calories”

Or, a loss of 4.3 pounds per month or a loss of 223 pounds per year.

So Calorie counting with a small reduction sounds simple, so why does it not work?

The answer as to why it does not work lies in the facts that one’s body is very smart and strives to maintain a level of homeostasis.

Homeostasis is defined as the tendency toward a relatively stable equilibrium between interdependent elements, especially as maintained by physiological processes.

In other words, the body will adapt to changes it encounters to maintain a state of equilibrium.

Thus, the body will lower its metabolism to adjust for the decrease in Calories it is receiving such that the body will now be burning 1,500 Calories per day.

Even if one tries to increase one’s caloric burn through strenuous exercise, the body will try to adapt by slowing its metabolism.

Just look at the disastrous effects of the participants on The Biggest Loser show which had to be canceled since almost all participants returned to their original or higher weights.

And further, it was reported that participants had to be given stimulants to try to maintain their metabolism.

In addition to Calorie counting not working due to the body lowing its metabolism to match caloric intake, it is important to note that every time one eats anything one’s normal body response is to increase its Insulin response to take care of the ingested Calories.

The body will increase its Insulin response by 5 to 7 times that of its resting insulin level.

And Insulin with its counterpart Insulin Resistance is the bad guy when it comes to weight loss.

Simply, insulin blocks one’s body from accessing its fat for energy and thus maintains one’s fat storage while at the same time causing a hunger response.

So, Caloric reduction is flawed due to the body’s accommodating metabolic reduction plus the body’s insulin increase each time food is introduced.

In short, Calorie counting is “starvation” by another name.

For many hundreds of thousands of years our Cavemen and Cavewomenancestors, whose DNA we inherited, hunted and lived on prey consisting of saturated fat and protein.

It is important to note that our Homo Sapien Ancestors, who existed as hunters for 200,000 years BC, did not even begin cultivating crops until about 11,000 BC.

This time of 11,000 BC was shortly after the Ice Age, which started about 2.6 Million years ago, ended in about 11,700 BC.

Thus, by 11,700 BC, our DNA was completely established well before the start of any crop cultivation.

These Cavemen and Cavewomen were very strong, lean and fast so as to catch their prey.

Just try to picture a fat/obese Caveman on the hunt with a spear trying to catch an antelope or deer.

Additionally, these Cavemen were only usually fortunate to catch just enough food for one meal a day which meant they fasted intermittently for about 20 hours a day…later referred to herein as “Intermittent Fasting”.

These Cavemen and Cavewomen did not get up in the morning and have Breakfast of Champions with sugar and milk and Pop Tarts.

The ideal Keto Diet targets are:

  • Fat 80%
  • Protein 15%
  • Carbohydrate 5%

However, one should remember the main rules for the Ketogenic Diet are:

  1. Never Go Hungry,
  2. Do Not Eat If Not Hungry,  and importantly to
  3. Always have a few Ketogenic friendly foods readily available for if and when one gets hungry.

The Keto Diet greatly reduces one’s Insulin, Insulin Response and Insulin Resistance.

Burning Belly Fat Fast On Keto

The Keto Diet allows one to use one’s stored fat for energy.

And when one is using one’s fat reserves for energy one is not hungry.

The big problem regarding carbohydrates is that they cause the hormone Insulin to be increased.

Insulin simplistically drives fat into the tissues and prevents it from being released and used for energy.

When Insulin is present fat stored in the belly and body cannot be consumed as energy.

It is said that when Insulin is present “the belly steals one’s meal”.

So let’s say one pound of fat produces 3,500 Calories and one has 15 pounds of extra fat.

This means that theoretically, one could go at least 15+ days only living on the Calories of the 15 pounds of excess fat without being hungry.

Thus, a person in Ketosis has tricked their body to use their bank of fat and not to be hungry.

There have been instances where hugely obese subjects under medical supervision have gone long extended lengths of time with no food just living off of their stored fat.

Per Wikipedia: Fasting is the willing abstinence or reduction from some or all food, drink, or both, for a period of time.

Fasting in regards to the Keto Diet is referred to as the abstinence of all food and all drink except such non-insulin stimulating drinks as good water, coffee, tea, apple cider vinegar as well as non-oil based supplements.

When one is fasting one’s body has no choice after a period of time to feed on itself.

From the time one goes to sleep until one wakes up one is fasting.

This gives rise to the term BreakFAST.

Fasting, unlike caloric restriction, does NOT decrease one’s metabolism.

And, in many cases, fasting increases metabolism.

Also, it decreases one’s amount of insulin and one’s insulin response such that one can easily burn belly fat for energy.

Further, it increases one’s adrenalin response which increases energy.

Fasting is sending a signal for one to get up and go hunting for food.

If it were not for the fasting response which increases metabolism and energy, then our caveman ancestors would not have been able to get going and hunt for food which is quite a strenuous activity.

The Keto Diet makes fasting easy since it reduces the presence of insulin and insulin resistance.

Thus, one’s hunger is greatly reduced as one is continually eating belly fat for energy.

One can go an extended period of time without being hungry by burning one’s belly fat.

Fasting does not work like Calorie counting in that it is not “starvation” as is Calorie counting caloric restriction.

Hugh Jackman Of X-Men, Practices Intermittent Fasting With Keto

When one is practicing the Keto Diet and wakes up after a nights sleep, one will begin to find that one is not hungry.

This is because one is getting food from one’s belly fat.

By one not being hungry one can easily skip breakfast and go for an extended period of time without food.

One can easily adapt to lasting until 12 noon before eating anything.

And many can easily adapt over a short time to going until dinner for their first meal.

Such prolonged fasting adaption allows one to practice one of two Intermittent fasting routines.

The two extremely healthy and fat burning routines are:

A 16 hour fast: 8 pm to 12 noon the next day which is a 16 hour fast referred to as TMAD…two meals a day which will save one $400 per month or $4,800 per year, or

A 20 hour fast: 8 pm to 4 pm the next day which is a 20 hour fast referred to as OMAD…one meal a day which will save one $600 per month or $7,200 per year.

Furthermore, In addition to Keto and Intermittent Fasting increasing consumption of one’s belly fat, it is also an outstanding form of Detox as it promotes extremely healthy Autophagy as explained in a very valuable explanation by Dr. Ohsumi which can be found on YouTube under his presentation  What is autophagy? A dynamic cellular recycling process.

The only exact way to be sure one is in Ketosis is to use Ketone Testing.

This is very important, as explained, to be successful with Intermittent Fasting.

Following are the standard three ways to test for one’s state of Ketosis:

SmackFast Ketone Strips For Initial Testing Only

Smackfat Ketone Strips for Ketogenic Diet and Diabetics – Precise Ketone Measurement and Supports Ketone Adaptation, 100 Strips are for monitoring and tracking progress on a day to day basis.

These Ketone strips which measure the Ketones in one’s urine will give Ketone test results, initially.

Urine testing is it is very good and inexpensive for beginners on the Keto Diet.

However, one’s chemistry will soon change and render urine testing useless.

Thus, one should also consider a permanent Keto blood testing monitor as described below.

Regarding breath testing for a state of Ketosis, there are a couple of products on the market but as of March 12, 2019, there have been too many user complaints to recommend this type of testing.
